You have the option of coming to Moreno with a basic idea for a song and receive a complete, quality, worthwhile package which includes all stages of creating a song or an album: arrangement and production, recording, mixing and mastering.
"Zur shares the credit for musical production on this album with Jacob Moreno, senior sound engineer and musical producer, who has previously cooperated with Zur in the project of "Avoda Ivrit" and manned the soundman position in "Tahlit Batahtit". "Unlike my previous albums" says Zur, "this time, I went through the whole process, from beginning to end, from writing to mastering with Moreno and it became live in his studio. He was the first to hear the songs and sent me home with comments. ‘Try to write differently here', ‘Try to write a different chorus', ‘this is good, this could be better'. The entire process was with him. The fact that this time I went through the whole process in one place helped me in consolidating the album. Up until today I've worked in a more scattered way: sketches in one place, some of the recordings in another. I was recording an album, pleased with eight, nine of the songs, then started to work on three of them again, with other people. This created the situation that in my albums you can hear different styles under one roof. This time I tried to unify it, that it all comes from the same base." - It seems to me, though not based on a deep acquaintance, that you are not a man to easily pass the steering wheel to someone else. How did it work with Moreno? "It took us time to reach the modus where we are now, and he is the first person to work with me on my singing, for example. It's the first time I've had this experience in such volume. I also owe him credit for the fact that right after "Tahlit" he used to call every few weeks, see if I'm writing, if I have anything that I can play for him. He encouraged me." |
